Commissioners encourage digital participation for Thursday meeting

Seneca County commissioners to meet at 10 a.m. Thursday for regular session
The public is encouraged to watch the live video or call in instead of attending

[Tiffin, OH March 24, 2020] – The Seneca County Board of Commissioners is to meet at 10 a.m. Thursday for a regular meeting.
The commissioners are discouraging the public from attending the meeting, in light of the state’s Stay at Home Order that went into effect Monday at 11:59 p.m.
To maintain maximum accessibility, the meeting will be recorded, archived and streamed live through Zoom. Residents can join the Zoom meeting by computer or mobile device at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/449239893.
Residents also can download the Zoom meeting app and join with meeting ID 449 239 893.
For those who would rather call in and listen to the audio of the meeting while it’s occurring, they can dial (646) 558-8656.
The commissioners will be present at their office for this meeting, but are also using this format to attempt to decrease the spread of COVID-19.
Residents are asked to join the meeting about 5-10 minutes before it begins Thursday.

At 10 a.m., a bid opening is to be held for two, eight-passenger, four-wheelchair vans for the Seneca County Opportunity Center.
At about 10:15 a.m., a bid opening is to be held for the county engineer’s 2020 pavement resurfacing project, which includes work on CR 32, 34, 52, 54 and 594.

During new business, the commissioners are to consider:
* An $89,032 supplemental appropriation to the General Fund in the Transfers Out Line.
* A $1,775 supplemental appropriation to the Juvenile Program and Services Fund for contract repairs.
* A $9,400 fund advance from the General Fund to the County Community Development Block Grant Fund.
* A $65,503.50 fund transfer to the Public Assistance Fund.
* An $89,032 fund transfer to the Soil and Water Fund.
* Authorizing the reduced speed zone on CR 50 in Adrian, in Seneca County.
* Accepting the farm lease bid and entering into an agreement with Fred Schoen for one year. Schoen, of Republic, bid $ 288.50 per acre for roughly 147 acres of county-owned agricultural land in Eden Township.
* Setting time, date and place to receive bids for the 2020 Chip Seal Project
* Authorizing the board to enter into a contract with Prestress Services Industries of Ohio.
* Accepting the bid from Rush Truck Centers of Ohio for a 64-passenger school bus on behalf of the opportunity center.
* Authorizing a contract with Cornerstone Historical Building Restoration, for restoration work at the Seneca County Museum’s Carriage House.
* Authorizing the IV-D service contract between Common Pleas Courts I and II, the juvenile court clerk and magistrate, the county clerk of courts and the county, on behalf of Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services.
