Commissioners to hear from Secretary of State’s office during digital meeting
Thursday’s session also to include proclamation for motorcycle awareness

[Tiffin, OH May 26, 2020] – The Seneca County Board of Commissioners is to meet at 10 a.m. Thursday for a digital board session through Zoom.
The commissioners are encouraging residents to join them in the online meeting through the application Zoom, in light of the state’s Stay at Home Order that went into effect in March.
To maintain maximum accessibility, the meeting will be recorded, archived and streamed live through Zoom. Residents can join the meeting by computer or mobile device at the following link: https://zoom.us/j/92595230790.

For those who would rather call in and listen to the audio of the meeting while it’s occurring, they can dial (646) 558-8656 and use the meeting ID.
The session also will be streamed live on the Seneca County Commissioners Facebook page.
At about 10 a.m., Jacob Huner, a regional regional liaison for Secretary of State Frank LaRose, will present information to the board on behalf of his office.
Huner said he plans to discuss the office’s plans for the November election.
He also said he will be discussing the secretary of state’s business service division, which he said had many successes in the Ohio business community over the last year. He will also address the cybersecurity directive that was issued by the SOS last year, which included support and funding provided to the county. Huner said he’d also answer any questions the commissioners have.
In other action, the commissioners plan to approve a proclamation recognizing May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. According to the National Safety Council, In 2017 motorcyclists made up just 0.6 percent of all vehicle miles traveled in the United States, but also represented 14 percent of traffic fatalities.
The proclamation approved by the board will remind residents to be as careful as possible and to be aware of motorcyclists as the weather continues to improve.
