BIOGRAPHY

Tyler Shuff is a native of Seneca County, where he grew up in Eden Township and Tiffin. After graduating from Tiffin Columbian High School, Shuff served on Tiffin City Council for 12 years before running for Seneca County Commissioner. In his current role as Director of Operations for the Tiffin Community Reinvestment Group, Shuff has overseen the development of the Laird Arcade Building, which has reached nearly full occupancy since 2017 and achieved a 100% occupancy milestone in 2018. Many of the businesses in the building are small start-ups that have contributed to the growth and revitalization of downtown Tiffin and Seneca County. In addition to his work with the Tiffin Community Reinvestment Group, Shuff is also the founder and owner of Shuff Consulting, a company that helps businesses with property management, real estate development, revitalization, and marketing and advertising solutions. He has personally negotiated deals to bring more than 30 new businesses to Seneca County.

Shuff has been actively involved in his community, serving on various boards and committees such as the Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership Business Enhancement Committee, the Personnel and Labor Relations Committee for the city of Tiffin, the Downtown Development Committee, the Entrepreneurship Development Committee, Seneca Regional Planning, Tiffin Parks and Recreation, and the Tiffin-Seneca Teen Center. He has also served as a board member for the Sandusky River Clean Sweep and has volunteered as a mentor with Seneca Mentoring Youth Links and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. In addition, Shuff has tutored Tiffin elementary school children, coached in the Tiffin Little League Football League, and served as a trustee for the Tiffin Elks Lodge.

In 2017, Shuff was recognized as a rising young professional with the Toledo-area 20 Under 40 Leadership Award. In 2019, he was named Officer of the Year by the Tiffin Elks Lodge #94. Shuff said he is excited to serve the citizens of Seneca County and is committed to the community where he grew up and where his family and friends live. “I’m from here, my family and friends live here and I’m not planning on going anywhere else,” he said. “These are the people I want to serve. This is home for me, this is where my heart is.” Shuff’s four-year term started on Jan. 2, 2021.
