Downtown Tiffin Holiday Tree Lighting Experience Set for December 6
Kick off the holiday season with festivities and community fun
The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Destination Seneca County has announced the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Experience, which will take place in front of the Seneca County Justice Center on Friday, Dec. 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The evening will commence with holiday music performed by the Off Our Rockers Chorus, a spirited group of 70 senior citizens known for their lively performances and community involvement. The event will include remarks from community leaders, a special appearance by Santa Claus, and the much-anticipated lighting of the community holiday tree. The tree will be adorned with more than 400 ornaments created by local fifth-grade students from schools throughout Seneca County as part of The CommuniTree Project.
Attendees are invited to enjoy complimentary hot chocolate sponsored by Bailiwicks Coffee Company and free cookies provided by Penn Station East Coast Subs in Tiffin. The audio for the night will be expertly managed by the team at Sound Solutions of Ohio, ensuring an engaging and festive experience for everyone.
Following the tree lighting, attendees can continue their holiday celebration at the third annual Kris Kringle Markt in downtown Tiffin. The open-air, German-themed Christmas market will feature holiday music, traditional German food, late-night shopping, children’s activities, and a nostalgic old-world Christmas atmosphere.
In addition to these events, visitors are encouraged to explore the festive downtown, which has been transformed by Operation Hallmark, a nonprofit organization founded in 2023 to enhance Tiffin’s holiday decor. With the efforts of five dedicated couples, downtown Tiffin has become a winter wonderland through community-driven fundraising and volunteer work.
