During old business, the commissioners are to continue the discussion on the budget for 2021. Earlier this year, the Seneca County Budget Commission certified $17.5 million as a projection for General Fund revenue for 2021, which is the same as the initial projection for 2020. The conservative estimate was made because of a high level of economic uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
County Administrator Stacy Wilson presented a first draft of the budget reflecting department requests and some other additions, and the total of expenditures for that draft was about $18.4 million.
This figure includes about $150,000 for the potential creation of a Human Resources Department, and about $300,000 for an additional commitment to emergency medical services. The commissioners are expected to further discuss the budget Thursday, with the goal of approving a budget by the end of the year.
In other business, the commissioners are to hold an executive session for personnel/compensation.
During new business, the board is to consider:
* A $10,000 supplemental appropriation to the General Fund for the Recorder for contract services.
* Reappointing Greg Edinger to the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership for a one-year term commencing Jan. 1, 2021, and expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
* A contract with Crawford County Board of Commissioners for the receipt, custody and care of Crawford County juveniles on behalf of the Seneca County Youth Center for 2021.
