At about 10:35 a.m., Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership officials are expected to welcome Pete DiSalvo to the meeting to present a housing study that the county helped fund.
DiSalvo Development Advisors has been working on the study, which cost the county about $14,000, since November.
In 2019, the company worked with the city of Tiffin on a housing study.
Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership President and CEO Aaron Montz encouraged the commissioners to support the study and said it is important because a lack of housing units is a major local issue. He said the 2019 Tiffin study showed that in Tiffin alone there was a need for 450-550 housing units. Montz said there are hundreds of unfilled jobs locally, and part of this is because people cannot locate in the area due to a lack of housing options.
In other action, two public hearings are scheduled for the potential vacation of several alleys. At 10:15, a hearing for two alleys in Springville, Big Springs Township, is to be held. At 10:25, another public hearing for two alleys in Alvada, Big Springs Township, is to be held.
In new business, the board is to consider:
* A $4,889.11 supplemental appropriation to the Unclaimed Funds Fund – Unclaimed Money Trust Line.
* Setting time, date and place to receive sealed bids for the CR 62 pavement repair project.
* Authorizng the commissioners to sign a satisfaction of mortgage through the Community Housing Improvement Program.
* A contract with Great Lakes Demolition Company for Superstructure Replacement – Prestressed Box Beams.
