At about 10:05 a.m., Linda Guiterrez, Business Development Liaison for Ohio Living, is to speak with the commissioners. Gutierrez is expected to discuss the 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30th in Tiffin at the Heminger Center, 350 Miami St.
Later during the meeting, Robert Kurtz, chief building official for SAFEbuilt, is to provide an update to the board about his company taking on commercial permitting and inspections in Seneca County.
In February the commissioners approved a contractual agreement with the company to replace the Richland County Building Department to perform building code services for commercial projects.
As part of the change, the county is to pay a $29,000 one-time software cost and office space in the county is to be provided for SAFEbuilt. As permitting fees are collected, SAFEbuilt is to keep 95 percent, while the county will receive 5 percent.
Sandusky County recently moved to SAFEbuilt for their commercial permitting and inspections, while Huron County also started using the company this year.
At 10:30 a.m., a public hearing is scheduled regarding a petition to vacate an alley in Venice Township.
In new business, the board is to consider:
* A $5,000 supplemental appropriation to the Ambulance Service Fund for HSA contribution.
* A $25,000 supplemental appropriation to the County Capital Projects Fund for the County Services Building.
* A resolution granting an extension for the Republic Town Hall and Opera House 2022 Façade Enhancement Project.
* Signing the FY 2024-2026 DYS Subsidy Reclaim Grant Application on behalf of the Commissioners and the Seneca County Juvenile Court.
* Granting the vacation of an unnamed alley located in the hamlet of Caroline in Venice Township.
* Appointing members to the Revolving Loan Fund Committee for three-year terms retroactive to Jan. 1, 2022.
* A master sales agreement with Timekeeping Systems for Guard One Tracking System on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office.
* Rescinding the Memorandum of Understanding for the Old Fort Local School District School Resource Officer on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office.
* Authorizing the disposal of unneeded, obsolete or unfit county-owned property.
