Commissioners to hear from state treasurer’s office representative
[Tiffin, OH July 22, 2019] – The Seneca County Board of Commissioners is to meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at its office, 111 Madison St.
At about 10:30 a.m., the commissioners have an appointment scheduled with Pat McCauley, the public affairs liaison for Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague.
Sprague was in Seneca County July 9 to meet with local officials and update them on happenings at the treasurer’s office. Sprague had lunch with Seneca County Commissioner Mike Kerschner and Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff.
According to the treasurer’s website, Sprague currently serves as Ohio’s 49th Treasurer of State where he oversees the state’s investment and debt portfolios, domestic & international custody portfolios and annual cash movements and deposits. Sprague was a state representative from 2011-2018, and he began his public service career in his hometown of Findlay, serving as auditor and treasurer.
During old business, the board is to discuss building and grounds and cupola lighting application protocol with several other elected officials. The topic of discussion will include potential changes to the application process for use of the Seneca County Justice Center’s grounds or cupola lighting system.
During resolutions, the commissioners are to consider:
* A $4,500 supplemental appropriation to the Emergency Management Fund for contract services.
* A $1,500 supplemental appropriation to the Emergency Management Fund for travel.
* A $2,000 fund advance from the General Fund to the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Fund. The request comes from the sheriff’s office and will be paid back once STEP grant funds are received.
* A participation agreement with the County Commissioner Association of Ohio Service Corporation and West Publishing Corporation on behalf of Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services.
* Entering into a subgrant agreement with ODJFS on behalf of Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services.
