Seneca County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan available for review

For the last several months, Seneca County Emergency Management Agency Director John Spahr has been collaborating with Resource Solutions Associates to create the 2025 Seneca County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The purpose of the plan is to develop a strategy to reduce the impact of natural disasters on the people, property and environment within the county.

The draft of the Seneca County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for review at http://senecacountyema.org/2025-seneca-county-all-hazard-mitigation-plan-draft.

The main areas for jurisdictions to review are 02 HIRA and 03 Strategies.  The Plan Review Guide will assist you in finding your jurisdiction’s specific strategies and areas of interest.

If you find discrepancies or that changes need to be made, please email those changes to Spahr at jspahr@senecacountyohio.gov.  Please include the plan section (01, 02, etc.), page number, paragraph and sentence that applies and your suggested edit.  Please include your contact information in case clarification is needed.

A hard copy of the plan will be available beginning Nov. 27 at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library in Tiffin and Kaubisch Public Library in Fostoria.  You can also review the plan at the EMA office at the Public Safety Building at the Seneca County Fairgrounds during regular business hours.

The public review period will end at 5 p.m. on Dec. 13.
