Seneca County Commissioners Bill Frankart and Tyler Shuff and Seneca County Administrator Barb Patterson attended a children’s book reading event with Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine at Kaubisch Memorial Public Library in Fostoria on June 5. DeWine visited the library to help celebrate Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library’s new local program partner, Friends of the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library.
During the event, DeWine read “The Very Hungry Caterpillars” by Eric Carle to a group of children.
“Kaubisch Public Library will be working in partnership with The Gase Family Foundation to promote Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Seneca County and manage the day-to-day functions of the program,” said Catherine Sulecki, Marketing and Communications Director for
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. “We’re so grateful to have them join our team and represent Seneca County.”
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides a free book each month to registered children ages birth to five. Each month, the organization gives away more than one million books worldwide. The program helps promote early literacy skills and inspire a love of reading.
“Our children are our future. Learning to read is one of the most essential skills they will need to possess in life,” Shuff said. “I’m in full support of this program and its mission. “
