Seneca County EMA to host final Hazard Mitigation Plan meeting Dec. 10
[Tiffin, OH Nov. 20, 2019] – The Seneca County Emergency Management Agency is to host a Hazard Mitigation Plan Final Review Meeting at 3 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the Public Safety Building, 126 Hopewell Ave., with an identical session to follow at 7 p.m. for those who couldn’t make the first.
Since August, Seneca County EMA has been working to update the county’s hazard mitigation plan. The plan helps to identify natural and human-caused incidents that could cause significant damage to property or people and methods to prevent or reduce those damages.
Many community partners have been involved by providing input throughout the planning process.
At the Dec. 10 meeting, stakeholders will review the draft plan and make any final changes. Once the plan is submitted to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency for review on Dec. 13, the plan as written will cover the county for the next five years.
The Dec. 10 session will provide instructions on how to review the plan and will provide an opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions. The meeting should last about one hour.
Also, as part of the final plan review process, the draft plan is to be available to the public from Dec. 2-13. During this time, the plan will be available at www.consultrsa.com/seneca. The public is invited to make comments through the website or by contacting John Spahr, jspahr@senecacountyohio.gov or 419-447-0266 ext. 10.
Comments will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 13.
Those who wish to attend the final planning session are asked to RSVP to Seneca County EMA.
