Seneca County General Health District Entrance, Parking Lot now open
[Tiffin, OH – May 31, 2023] – The Seneca County Services Building renovation project is nearing its completion, and county residents can now enter the health department through the building on the East Perry Street side and use the parking lot that was previously closed during construction.
Seneca County Building and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor John Logsdon said Wednesday morning that work on the new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant entrance to the Seneca County General Health District and its parking lot is completed.
He said the health department’s new address is 92 E. Perry St, although the entrance is in the same place as it was before, attached to the County Services Building on the East Perry Street side.
Logsdon said some work continues on the back of the building, but he said residents wishing to visit the health department are now welcome to use the new entrance and the repaved parking lot.
“Even though it’s a big project, I feel it was worth investing in to ensure that the wall will stand well into the future. It’s also a plus to bring the building up to Americans with Disabilities Act compliance and to improve the entrance to an office that can sometimes be difficult to find for some folks,” Logsdon said.
The Commissioners entered into a contract in 2022 with Studer-Obringer, of New Washington, to take on the project to rebuild the health department wall, redesign the entrance and rebuild the parking lot.
Prior to its work with Studer-Obringer, DLZ Architects began its partnership with the county on the project in June 2019.
