As the Jr. Fair Board prepared for the upcoming Seneca County Fair on July 21-28, they added one more event to their busy schedule – a thank you dinner for the many people who support them. On July 9, the Jr. Fair Board hosted Super Supper, a thank you dinner for the community members who help make the fair a fun and successful community event every year.
“We just like to get the people who help out a lot together for a dinner,” said Jr. Fair Board Coordinator Emily Gilliland.

The community members invited to the dinner included about 30 volunteer superintendents who invest countless hours into the fair without pay.
“The superintendents are the unsung heroes of the fair,” Gilliland said.
Seneca County Commissioner Bill Frankart, who stayed connected to the fair board throughout the year with offers of help and support, was also invited to the event. As a lifelong farmer and longtime 4-H advisor, he is an avid supporter of county fairs.
“It was a great evening seeing the excitement in the Jr. Fair kids when they hosted their event tonight as we close in on the Seneca County Fair,” Frankart said.
The Seneca County Commissioners honor the long, colorful history of Seneca County, which celebrates its 200th birthday in 2024.
