The Seneca County Fair created a lot of firsts for ten-year-old Sophia Huffman. This year marked the first time Huffman tried her hand at crocheting, the first time she entered anything in the fair, and the first time she won a First Place blue ribbon. Huffman is a member of the Country Clovers 4-H club, and she won the ribbon after entering a crocheted bunny with a Self-Determined, Creative Arts project.
“I just learned to crochet. It was my first time trying that,” Huffman said.
As it turns out, it was also her first time experiencing the feeling of bringing home a bright, shiny blue ribbon.
