By Hannah Hawk, PR Coordinator, Seneca County Board of DD

Direct Support Professional Beth Walliser was presented with the 2024 Impact Award at Seneca County Opportunty Center’s Provider Appreciation Dinner.

Beth Walliser is the recipient of the 2024 Impact Award. This recognition is presented to a direct support professional (DSP) who has gone above and beyond with outstanding care, support and dedication to individuals with developmental disabilities in Seneca County. Providers support people with disabilities and help them live, learn and work in their community.

“Beth is very passionate about her work and truly cares about the people she works with. She makes sure the people she serves are taken care of,” said one of her nominations.

Some examples of how she does this are by keeping their spirits up, helping clean and cook, and helping shop for groceries.

A family member of an individual Walliser provides for said that “she is dedicated to helping any way she can. She is a blessing to the family and we don’t have to worry about his care with Beth being his provider.”

Walliser is recognized for ensuring the individuals she serves are living life to the fullest and addressing any of their needs in a timely way to team members. She’s said to be persistent in advocating for individuals with disabilities to ensure their needs and wants are a top priority.

The award is sponsored by the Advocates Coming Together for the Seneca County Opportunity Center- a non-profit group that works together to enhance the services to persons with disabilities. Walliser was announced as the recipient at the annual Provider Appreciation Dinner to recognize private adult day and vocational service providers, residential agency providers, and independent providers. There were over 30 providers nominated for this year’s award and around 130 people attended the ceremony. Providers nominated for the Impact Award were presented certificates and recognized as outstanding Direct Support Professionals.
