[Tiffin, OH Aug. 24, 2018] – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging recognized a local woman Thursday as Seneca County’s outstanding senior citizen for 2018. Paula Daughenbaugh was given the honor during a ceremony in Ontario. She also received a proclamation signed by all three commissioners. The proclamation states Daughenbaugh loves spending time with her family, helping the elderly at her senior apartment complex, conducting garage sales, setting up as at local flea markets and bingo. Daughenbaugh also volunteers to help with funeral dinners at the Tiffin Moose and volunteers weekly to help with the county commission on aging’s bingo fundraiser. Seneca County Commissioner Mike Kerschner said he was encouraged by Daughenbaugh and other seniors who stay involved in the community even after retirement.

“It’s inspiring to see senior citizens still giving their time and talent to help in their community,” he said. “Those people are still at it.”
