GLCAP offers property tax assistance

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) wants to help local residents who will struggle to pay property taxes this year. GLCAP’s property tax assistance program is available to eligible residents who need help paying their tax bill.

Seneca County Commissioner Tyler Shuff encourages eligible county residents to apply for property tax assistance through GLCAP.

Tax assistance is available to homeowners living in Seneca, Sandusky, Ottawa and Wood counties who are paying non-escrowed property taxes. Eligible residents must be at or below 150% annual area median income, which is $103,350 for a household of one and $118,100 for a household of two. Information on eligibility for all size families or to apply for assistance, call 800-775-9767, visit www.glcap.org/taxhelp, or send a letter of inquiry with your name, address, phone number and email address to Great Lakes Community Action Partnership, 127 S. Front St., Fremont, OH 43420.

Utility assistance is also available to eligible residents in Seneca, Sandusky, Ottawa and Wood counties. Utility assistance services include affordable payment plans, winter heating assistance, summer cooling relief, water utility payment assistance, annual utility credit cards and energy-saving techniques.
