County and local F.O.P. to light up Seneca County blue for law enforcement

[Tiffin, OH — July 8, 2021] – Seneca County Commissioner Tyler Shuff, County Sheriff Fred Stevens and County Fraternal Order of Police President Charles Dell, as well as other law enforcement leaders, are teaming up to show support of police personnel by displaying blue LED lights across the county.
Shuff announced the program during the commissioners’ meeting Thursday morning. The program will include the free delivery and installation of blue LED lights to county residents. He said a group of volunteers will deliver and install the lights to interested citizens.
Shuff thanked Ace Hardware, Lowe’s and Walmart for stepping up to support the program by donating lights.
“We want to show that we strongly support law enforcement in Seneca County,” he said. “We aren’t a community that’s going to defund our safety services. When you see that blue light on someone’s porch, it conveys a message of respect and solidarity for law enforcement personnel and their families.”
Those interested in having a blue light delivered may email pr@senecacountyohio.gov with their name, address and preferred time for delivery.
Shuff said he hopes community members join the commissioners in showing their support for our local law enforcement.
“We want to send the message that if you want to commit a crime this is not the place for you,” he said. We have a safe community, and we aim to keep it that way.”
If you are interested in supporting the program or would like to learn more, contact Dell at cmdell@senecacountyohio.gov.

**Please note that supplies are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Lights will be delivered by volunteers as soon as we can get them out!
