Job Title- Echo Paramedic

Rate of Pay- $17.85

Weekly Hours- 40+ hours

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Completion of secondary education with training and experience as a Paramedic.  Current ACLS and BLS certification with a successful background check. State of Ohio Paramedic Certification (minimum 3 years of experience) and a valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

55%     (1)        Under the direction of the Emergency Services Director and in conjunction with a licensed  medical

                          doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine and surgery, provides all pre-hospital emergency patient

                         care up to the Paramedic Level; determines nature and extent of illness  or injury and provides

                         emergency medical assistance and advanced life support and intensive

                        care techniques; starts I.V.’s; maintains patient’s breathing by intubation; administers

                        medications; operates advanced life support equipment; assess vital signs; controls bleeding;

                        assists childbirth; immobilizes fractures; management of mentally disturbed patients, and initial

                        care of poison and burn patients; where patients must in emergency be extricated from

                        entrapment, assesses extent of injury and gives all possible emergency care and protection;

                        communicates with patients, families and other emergency personnel on scene; maintains radio

                         communications with hospitals; transports patients to medical facilities.

23%    (2)        Maintains cardiac resuscitation and other skills and knowledge of emergency medical techniques

                        through routine self‑tests required by supervisor; attends meetings and in‑service training; assists

                        in training and orientation; assists in development of procedures to promote better patient care;

                        follows written protocol to include patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with all

                        federal, state, and local guidelines; Tests and maintains advanced life support equipment and

                        instruments for proper operation; inventories and restocks drugs and medical supplies; maintains

                        inventory of medical supplies and medications.

12%     (3)       Completes and files standardized reports of patient information and care for the use of receiving

                        hospital and administration, including nature of request for aid, pertinent past history, therapy

                        provided, diagnosis, disposition, and sufficient patient information for billing purposes.

10%     (4)       Administrative Duties, reporting in EMS Charts; review open Patient Care Reports; inventory;

                         and other duties as assigned.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA

safety standards that pertain to essential functions; maintains required licensure and certification.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.
