Kenadee Siebenaller honored during board meeting

The following proclamation was read by Commissioner Holly Stacy during a board session last night.

#ChooseHappy – October 2018 through December 2018

“Choose happy, in honor of Kenadee”

WHEREAS, the commissioners recognize and honor the life of Kenadee Siebenaller, who died Sept. 29 near Fostoria. Seibenaller was an 18-year-old Tiffin University student who graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School. She enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball. Family members described her as outgoing, vibrant, hardworking and carefree. Kenadee always said, “Go with the flow and take life as it comes.” Kenadee radiated positivity and happiness, while balancing sports, education and work. Things were not always easy for her, but she never complained.

WHEREAS, we also offer condolences and support to the family and friends of Siebenaller during this trying and tumultuous time. While the loss of any person is tragic, the death of a teenager is especially brutal. It will be a difficult healing process for friends and family, but the community must continue to be there for them in their most difficult times.

WHEREAS, the board also extends respect, admiration and graciousness to the courageous men and women of Bascom Volunteer Fire Department and Bascom Joint Ambulance District, who responded to the accident. We also thank all emergency personnel in the county, in the state and in the country.

WHEREAS, On Oct. 5, the Seneca County Justice Center lighting system was switched to Kenadee’s favorite color, yellow, in order to honor her. While the lights eventually faded, Kenadee’s memory will not. Her life has left a mark on many, and she will fly high in the eyes of her family and friends for the rest of time.

WHEREAS, Siebenaller’s life proved that no matter how difficult things can seem, you don’t have to complain, you can choose to be happy. The commissioners encourage all county residents to recognize and honor Siebenaller’s life and to do what Kenadee would have wanted people to do, to choose happy in their lives.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, This Board of Seneca County Commissioners, hereby proclaim the rest of 2018 as #ChooseHappy year. All county officials, employees, schools and residents are encouraged to participate in county government activities related to the proclamation.

#ChooseHappy Year – 2018

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, WE, the Board of Seneca County Commissioners have hereunto set our hand and caused the Great Seal of the County to be affixed to this Proclamation this 11th day of September in the year of our Lord two thousand and eighteen.
