Commissioners to talk economic development contracts, budgets Tuesday
[Tiffin, OH Nov. 12, 2018] – Seneca County commissioners are to meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at their office, 111 Madison St. The first 30 minutes of the meeting will be a work session, while the regular session will begin at 10.
In old business, the board will discuss economic development contracts with Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership and Fostoria Economic Development Corp. The commissioners have been mulling a draft contract presented to them by TSEP President and CEO David Zak last week. The contract would outline the goals and priorities of the agency as it relates to the county. One proposal in the contract would be to create a position with a primary focus on rural economic development in the townships and villages in the county.
In other business, the board is to get an update on the budget process. Commissioners hope to pass the 2019 budget this month.
Also during the meeting, choosing a new member for the Transportation Improvement District, potential intervention in the Seneca Wind Project, a job opening in the county for an Emergency Services Technician and an update on the County Commissioners Association of Ohio Winter Conference are also expected to be topics of discussion.
At 10:30 a.m., an executive session related to personnel is scheduled.
During appropriations, the board will consider:
* A $500 supplemental appropriation to the Seneca County Juvenile and Probate Courts Computer Fund for contract services.
* A $24.31 supplemental appropriation to the Community Development Block Grant Fund for Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department equipment.
* A $30,000 fund transfer from the General Fund to the Justice Center Improvement/Replacement Fund.
* An addendum to an agreement with the Seneca County General Health District for 2018 nursing services.
