SCOC Celebrity Basketball coming March 14

Seneca County Opportunity Center to host annual Celebrity Basketball game

The Seneca County Opportunity Center will hold its Celebrity Basketball game on March 14 at Heidelberg University’s Seiberling Gymnasium. The doors will open at 6 p.m. with the game starting at 7 p.m. The public is invited to join the fun as teams of community members and Seneca Arrows Special Olympics athletes return to the court for this annual tradition.

Each March, the Celebrity Basketball game brings the community together to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The festivities include cheerleaders, a pep band, a 50/50 raffle, a concession stand and several favorite local celebrities.

Rock Your Socks World Down Syndrome Day is on March 21. Wear unique socks to spread awareness of Down syndrome and share photos on social media.

The ACT Council Palm Sunday Drive-Thru Dinner is on March 24. Pre-orders for the dinners are due March 11 and can be placed by contacting Joan Fredritz at 419-447-7521, ext. 1134 or jfredritz@senecadd.org.

Bakery Bingo is on March 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the SCOC gym. Each Bingo card is $5 with the chance to win baked goods. All proceeds go towards the 2024 Unity Conference.
