Over 200 people showed their support and gratitude for local First Responders by attending the Bettsville Firefighters Association Reverse Raffle held at The Chandelier Community Event Center on March 9. The event benefited the Bettsville Volunteer Fire Department.

Seneca County Commissioner Bill Frankart and Charlet Steffanni were the top winners at the event.

Bettsville Fire Chief Michael Snell said he was surprised that so many people attended the event.

“We are very appreciative of the support from the community,” Snell said.

Seneca County Commissioner Bill Frankart and Charlet Steffanni were top winners of the event and split the prize.

“Bettsville Firefighters Association had an excellent turnout for their Reverse Raffle at the Chandelier in Tiffin,” Commissioner Frankart said. “We definitely live in a great community that comes out and supports their First Responders.”

Proceeds from the event will help the department purchase two air packs for the firefighters. The department, which has a roster of 16 volunteers, needs funds and manpower.

“Our department is pretty small. There are not very many of us,” Snell said. “We’re taking applications if anyone is interested in joining our volunteer department.”
