Commissioners to hear tourism update Thursday morning, host evening EMS session

[Tiffin, OH – August 31, 2021] – The Seneca County Board of Commissioners is to meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at its office, 111 Madison St.
The session will be hosted in person, but there will still be an online viewing option available.
The meeting will be streamed on Zoom and on Facebook Live, but a different experience will be offered on each platform.
Those interested in participating in the session during the public comment portion must join via Zoom. Those who are not interested in participating will be able to view a higher-quality broadcast on Facebook Live. The Facebook feed will include graphics and multiple camera angles.

At about 10:30 a.m., staff members from the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Services/Destination Seneca County are scheduled to give an annual update to the commissioners.
Amy Hoffman, of Palmer Energy, is to speak with the board at about 11 a.m. Palmer Energy partners with the County Commissioners Association of Ohio to help manage a natural gas and electric program for member counties. Seneca County has opted into this program, which is designed to help save money on natural gas and electric bills by using the strength of group buying. Hoffman is excepted to give an update on the electric aggregation program.
On Thursday at 7 p.m., the commissioners are to host a monthly stakeholder meeting on the future of emergency medical services in the county. The meeting is to be hosted at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, 928 W. Market St.

In new business, the commissioners are to consider:
• An $804.80 supplemental appropriation to the General Fund for the courts.
• A $932.43 supplemental appropriation to the Special Projects Fund.
• A $932.42 supplemental appropriation to the Probate/Juvenile Computer Fund.
• A $3,5000 supplemental appropriation to the DLQ Care and Custody Fund.
• A $500 supplemental appropriation to the Emergency Management Agency for travel.
• Authorizing fund transfers to be made to the Victims of Crime Act Fund.
• Authorizing Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services to transfer Medicaid Income Maintenance funds to Fulton County DJFS.
