Commissioners to recognize Ohio 4-H Week, open bids for road project

[Tiffin, OH – March 7, 2023] — The Seneca County Board of Commissioners is to meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday at its office, 111 Madison St.
The session will be hosted in person, but there will be an online viewing option made available to the public.
Those interested in participating in the session during the public comment portion must join via Zoom. Those who are not interested in participating will be able to view a higher-quality broadcast on Facebook Live. The Facebook feed will include graphics and multiple camera angles.

At about 10:30 a.m., the commissioners are scheduled to open bids for the CR 27, CR 38 and TR 194 superstructure replacement – prestressed box beams project.
Also during the session, Ohio State University Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development Katie Cole is slated to visit the commissioners’ office to accept a proclamation recognizing March 5-11 as Ohio 4-H Week.
According to Cole, Seneca County’s 41 community 4-H clubs include about 900 youth members and 150 adult volunteers.
Later in the meeting, Seneca County Auditor Julie Adkins is set to meet with the board to discuss salaries.
During new business, the commissioners are to consider:
A $36,160 supplemental appropriation to the County Capital Projects Fund for a project at the Seneca County Airport.
A $17,219 supplemental appropriation to the Seneca County Sewer District Replacement and Improvement Fund for New Riegel Capital Improvements.
A $2,500 supplemental appropriation to the American Rescue Plan Fund of 2021 for equipment.
A $25,000 supplemental appropriation to the Maintenance and Repair Fund for reinforced steel.
A $160,000 supplemental appropriation to the General Fund for the Seneca County Jail.
A $329,210.34 supplemental appropriation to the Maintenance and Repair Fund for equipment – county garage.
Supplemental appropriations totaling $538 to the Concealed Handgun Licenses Fund for PERS and Workers Compensation.
A $98,000 appropriation adjustment to the County Capital Projects Fund, moving money over from the contingencies fund for a duct replacement project at the RTA Building.
Appointing Jim Oliver to the Seneca County Board of Disabilities for the unexpired term that expires on Dec. 31, 2024.
A resolution appointing members to the Community Corrections Board.
A contract with Wadsworth Solutions to perform the replacement of duct work at the RTA Building.
